Family Service Regina is pleased to present a series of work / family wellness seminars designed to acknowledge the connection between work and family, and explore ways to enhance this relationship.  Research indicates that if preventive steps are taken to address issues relevant to employee family/work related needs, a more productive and efficient workplace can be established

All seminars are 1 - 1 1/2 hours in length and can be tailored to meet the needs of individual organizations.  Seminars can be expanded to half or full day workshops.  The seminars have been designed using learner centered and adult education models and are respectful of the needs of employees and employers.

Balancing Work And Family Life
"Overtime vs. Parentime"

Many people today are facing the challenge of balancing work and family life.  This seminar will explore this challenge and allow participants to examine their own needs while developing techniques for balancing work and family life.

Roles And Responsibilities
"Who Does What?"

Members of many families have to attend to two major roles - doing their job at the workplace and keeping the home in order.  During this seminar participants discuss myths and realities of roles and responsibilities for working families in the 1990's.

Time Management
"Running From Morning Till Night"

Juggling time between work and family is a challenge.  Discover how others manage their time and new ways to get the most out of the time available to you.

Parenting
"We Can Make A Difference"

Parenting is the most challenging job we face in our entire lifetime, but it is the task for which we receive the least training.  Discover ways to acknowledge children's feelings and engage cooperation.

Conflict Resolution
"Win-Win Strategies"
Conflict is a fact of life.  People are different and have different values and perspectives.  Discover new ways to view conflict and learn a model for resolving conflict that allows both sides to win.

Self Esteem Building
"You are Lovable and Capable"
Our workplace and family needs will be best met if our personal needs are first met and our level of self-esteem is high.  Discover how self-esteem affects behavior and learn ways to increase your self-esteem level.

Time Out For Self / Spouse
"I'm Not On Call"
Sometimes we become so busy trying to balance our work and family responsibilities that we forget to take time out for ourselves and to nurture our relationship with our life partner.  Learn new ways to take care of yourself and to reconnect as a couple.

Family Friendly Policies
"May I Leave the Meeting Please?"
Workplaces that develop human resource policies that help to strengthen the relationships between work and family are leaders in their field.  This seminar will help employees discover the existing family-friendly policies within their organizations and provide for discussion and generation of new policy ideas.

Stress Management
"I'm All Used Up"
Ever experience stress as it relates to work and family?  This seminar will help identify those stressors, review the positive and negative aspects of stress, and develop some stress reduction techniques applicable to work and family life.

Sandwich Generation:  Care For The Caregivers
"Who Can I Turn To?"
At some time in our lives we may feel "squashed" between taking care of our children, taking care of our parents, and maintaining our work responsibilities.  Learn ways to care for yourself as you care for others.

Communication
"Can We Talk?"
Ever given one message and received a totally unexpected response?  Communication forms the base of our relationships with others both at work and at home.  This seminar will present various methods of communication and discuss how they enhance or take away from healthy, positive interaction with others.
