What is an Employee and Family Assistance Program? The Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP) at Family Service Regina provides confidential and professional counselling and workshops to employees and their families who are experiencing personal problems that may affect job performance. Through our provincial and national network of professional counsellors, we provide EFAP services on a fee-for-service or contractual basis to a number of organizations across Saskatchewan and Canada. Additional information regarding our Canada-wide services is available at www.familyserviceseap.com. Why Have an Employee & Family Assistance Program? People face a variety of problems in their daily lives. Individual problems such as emotional distress, financial difficulties, relationship breakdown, child/parenting problems, and addictions can arise in response to the demands and stress of modern living. Sometimes these problems grow beyond our capacity to cope and when that happens, the resulting anxiety can drain an individual of his or her energy and effectiveness. An EFAP can help:
Progressive organizations across North America have recognized that it is in their best interest to incorporate an EFAP as part of a comprehensive employee benefit package. It's good business because it's cost effective. More importantly, an EFAP gives employers an alternative to ignoring a troubled employee or taking disciplinary action and perhaps losing a valuable employee. What Kind of EFAP Will You Need? We recognize that your organization is unique. We will assess your organization's particular needs to ensure you receive an EFAP that is exactly what you require. How Do I Make an Appointment? Once a contract is established an employee may access the program by contacting an Employee & Family Assistance Program Counsellor at Family Service Regina. A counsellor will then respond to an inquiry, usually the same day and appropriate sessions will be scheduled. These appointments can take place during the day, evening, or weekend. *Remember that confidential assistance is available on a 24-hour, 7 days a week basis for a broad range of personal and work-related concerns, for employees and eligible family members.* Confidential assistance is available for a broad range of personal concerns which may affect you or your family such as:
